Inflammation heats up joints, organs, and at times You!
It’s easy to say inflammation in the body is normal. But it’s not.
It is however common.
I too have had inflammation in my body
In my early 20’s I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. My fingers, elbows, and knees caused the most pain each morning. But I’d fake through it, eat like shit, and drink with the crowd because it would mask the physical pain I felt until the next morning… Repeat.
Every 3 months, like clockwork, a respiratory infection would stop by to say, “Hi”. So I’d take antibiotics, which only creates a bigger problem in the long run. Hello more inflammation covered with one giant bandaid.
Hypothyroid, because of unhealthy eating completely slowed down my metabolism and so my body began to hold on to excess fat, which meant I was gaining weight – fast!
I began smoking cigarettes at 13 years old. For the next 15 years I’d battle this nasty habit which would at times cause hacking and most definitely flare up the rheumatoid arthritis living in my body.
And like everyone else, I’ve had the occasional cold & flu that of course was met with great self care until I was better, then back to the same unhealthy habits that existed pretty much everywhere in my life.

I’ve not had a cold, flu, or thyroid issues since cleaning up. Arthritis was only felt during my pregnancy because my baby was using all of my body’s resources to grow.
So how do I take care of inflammation in my body?
I cut out gluten and sugar.
I’m not saying it’s easy, or that I never experience cravings.
But what I am saying is when there’s a will, there’s a way. My body and health deserve a chance to both sustain and support me throughout this life.
We want to be healthy, but usually don’t take care of ourselves until we need to be healthy.
What if we lived to be healthy, instead of temporarily adding in good health in order to live???

To minimize inflammation it’s not only about what you remove, but also what you add in.
Today I’m sharing with you the basics that have worked for me personally, and that I use almost daily.
I’m no doctor. Just a certified gal with a great deal of holistic health knowledge that enjoys looking at food as medicine.
